Inspired by my Imzadi and Barbra Streisand's song "Main Event".
Deanna Troi walked dreamily down the corridor with a rose in her hand. As she walked, she smelled the rose and thought of Will. Her Imzadi. He was all she thought about. She almost danced down the hall as she thought of him. He consumed her thoughts day and
night.
Beverly was coming from the other direction looking at a padd with information about one of her patients. They bumped into each other in their absent mindedness.
"Oh, Deanna!" Beverly exclaimed. "I'm so
sorry."
Deanna still had her little grin on her face. "It's
alright."
"Oh, Deanna!" Beverly exclaimed again. "You have the look of love!"
"Who me?"
"Yes, you."
"Well, I have a news flash for you." Deanna said with mischief and twirling the rose in front of her as she looked at it with a dreamy smile. "I am! And he's my every thought."
"Oh, I can see the headline now!" Beverly giggled.
"Extra! Extra! Deanna Troi is in love!"
Deanna giggled. "Oh, Beverly."
"Will?" Beverly asked eagerly.
"Of course." Deanna said, almost dancing where she
stood and still smiling. "I just feel I have to thank my lucky stars above and shout it to the heavens above."
"Well, let me know what happens." Beverly said with a smile and taking pleasure in seeing her friend so happy. "And don't let him go this time."
Deanna smiled and went on her way. "Yes, he is heaven
sent." She thought to herself.
Then she looked at the note again that he left her.
"Deanna,
Meet me in holodeck nine at 1900 hours and wear something nice. Hurry, don't be late, because I have something nice planned for you.
Will"
Deanna walked into the holodeck. The program was a starred filled night on some planet. She was guessing it was Betazed, given the scenery of a wide open grassy area. Much like the place where they laid like spoons all night long. Will had a blanket spread out on the ground and a picnic set up with all her favourites.
"I wasn't sure if you were coming." Will said as he stood up from where he was waiting for her, as he prepared the picnic.
Deanna smiled. "You said, hurry don't be late. What's the celebration?"
"You'll see." He said, with a smile and kissed her. "Have a seat." Then gestured to the picnic all set up for her.
"Will Riker." She said with a broad smile as she sat down to the meal he prepared. "What are you up to?"
"Moi?" He asked in mock shock.
"Yes, you!"
"Oh, it's nothing. Just a nice picnic for my Imzadi, under the stars." Then he kissed her.
They ate and talked for a while, then Will looked at her. She could sense his hesitation and fear, but she let it pass for the moment.
Will finally spoke. "Deanna." He paused and she looked at him, giving him her full attention. "I think of you a lot, as you probably know. I want. I wish." He stopped with nervousness, not able to speak the words he wanted to ask her.
"Go on." She encouraged.
"It's nothing." He replied shaking his head.
"Will, what's wrong?" She asked inquisitively. Trying to probe his thoughts.
He thought for a moment, trying to think what to say to her.
"I want to ask you something, but." He paused, still feeling the anxiety within him.
"But what?"
"Oh, I don't know." He stated.
Deanna smiled. "You do know, but you won't know the answer until you ask."
Will smiled, then moved closer to her and hugged her. Finally, he pulled back a little and looked her directly in the eyes. "Will you marry me?"
Deanna smiled as she felt her heart dance and kissed him very passionately.
"So, is that a yes?" Will asked with a smile.
"Yes, it is." She stated with a smile filled with love and passion.
Then Will returned her kiss just as passionately. Deanna felt like she wanted to scream the words Beverly said earlier as they played through her head. "Extra! Extra! I'm in love! I've got to thank my lucky stars above!"
Will laid her back onto the ground as he continued to kiss her and thought "I'm so in love with you. You must be heaven sent." Then he moved down and gave her gentle love bites on her neck. He just wanted to envelope her with the love he had for her and the joy in his heart that he had because she had said yes. He moved back up toward her mouth with kisses and then enveloped her mouth with his.
Deanna revelled over the kisses he gave her and the happiness they gave each other. She wanted him to take her and envelope her with his love. He gave her so much satisfaction and happiness. Her one attraction was now going to be the man of her life, her husband, and she was going to be his wife.
As they enjoyed the midnight sky, they caressed each other and explored each other's bodies. Neither could wait to tell the universe that they were going to be married to each other. Their love for each other was so real and they wanted to be with each other forever. Now they would be.
